How does this website work?
The goal of this website is to be able to clearly display products that you may be interested in ordering for your garden. For 2022, seedlings will be available for pre-order from ~February through to mid-March (approx March 13, 2022 @ midnight). This will give you an opportunity to reserve plants that you absolutely know you would like to have in your garden. You do NOT have to place a full order of everything for your garden during this pre-order period (unless you already know everything you want), only the garden staples that you know you absolutely want, or unique plants that you want to be guaranteed to have. Quantities available for pre-order are limited.
While browsing for pre-order, you can take a look at all the seedlings being offered and begin to plan out your summer garden. I understand that looking through all the varieties and planning for the summer can be somewhat overwhelming so from March 25, 2022 & onwards, I will list plants as they become available and you may choose to order then. While I cannot grow every single plant offered on this website, I will be growing the most commonly ordered plants based off of 2021 orders which will hopefully still be a large enough selection to choose from. For example, I will be growing all tomato, pepper, eggplant, cucumber, beans, and herb varieties being offered as they are the most common garden plants so you can be assured to see these plants listed in the spring.
If you see something while browsing and absolutely want it in your garden, please pre-order it! Pre-ordering is the only way to 100% guarantee that you will have it in your garden! Otherwise there is the same risk of not finding what you're looking for/ things being sold out if you wait too long. If you are flexible and don't mind which variety of tomato you have in your garden as long as you have tomatoes, then there will be plenty of options for you just the same come the spring.
When will I receive my plants/ how will pickup or delivery work?
Your plants will be available for pickup or delivery by the Victoria Day long weekend (starting May 20, 2022). Typically the risk of frost has passed by then and you should be safe to plant your seedlings right away but please, check the weather for your area and make sure it is safe to plant out your seedlings. I am not responsible for what happens to the plants once they leave my care.
Approximately 2 weeks before the first official pickup/delivery day, I will send out an email to you letting you know that your plants will be ready soon and to please schedule a time for pickup or delivery.
Do I purchase per plant or are there multiple plants in a pot?
All vegetable plants will be sold individually unless otherwise stated in their descriptions (i.e., lettuce, carrots, bok choy in 6-packs & tomatillos in 2-packs for pollination guarantee). All herb plants will have multiple plants per pot since they are used for their foliage, very similar to what you would get at a nursery. The majority of annual & perennial flowers will be 1 plant per pot unless otherwise stated in their description. Please be sure to read the descriptions carefully.
What do you mean by 6-pack?
You will notice some vegetables being sold in 6-packs. 1 ‘quantity’ of this item will give you 6 individual plants, making it easier for you to plant in your garden without disrupting their roots. A 6-cell insert will look like this:
How large/small will the seedlings that I will receive be?
I will always aim to give you a product that will be ready to bloom once planted in your garden. This is difficult to quantify since every plant size is different but generally, my plants will be larger than the ones found at your local grocery store or garden supply store. This stage will give you the satisfaction of seeing blooms & fruit not long after planting, while also not keeping the plants too root bound in their growing pots.
